For drama we are performing a play that we had chose to do, with a group of 4 but we added a extra actor because we didn't have enough actors to play different characters, the play my group and i had in mind was the documentary of Tupac and Notorious B.I.G or much known as Biggie smalls the 2 goddess of gangster rap. The play or documentary is about the beef that went on against West coast and East coast, and in the play we will be talking about two more things which is Tupac and Biggie beef and also how both Artists lost there life.

Characters played in the play/Documentary

Ryley - Puff Daddy
Jason - Lil Ceaser
Manase - Suge knight
Ansh - The Notorious B.I.G

Here's a few things about Tupac.
His name is Tupac Amaru Shakur

He was killed in a drive by shooting after a Mike Tyson fight in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Before Shakur was famous: He played the role of Travis Younger in the play, A Raisin in the Sun, at the Apollo Theater.

The Notorious B.I.G was also killed in a drive by shooting in Los Angeles, California United states

Body and movement

For the past few drama lessons we have been learning how to change our voices and our emotions and how to stay in character, we have played a lot of games related to drama the game i enjoyed the most was "Thank God your here". The reason being is because you had to say things of the top your head, but the other people are in on the play which makes it even harder, the hard thing about the game was thinking of what to say to the characters with scripts that knew what to say, i had a go, and my group and I did a play about fortnite, the characters that were in the play were Tana, Ryley, Jason, and I, the thing that was mostly hard about the whole game was making up a scene to do in the game, i think there were 4 or 5 groups that had a go at this game, it was hard for me as a fortnite player to stay in character because i'm not really a serious person, but besides that our play ended up being good, but my group and I thought we could still do better as a team, but i think every thought it was boring.

The actor can use there body movement by using there hands and using there head nodding and other things like that. The actors did it because it was to entertain people and to test there acting skills and see how good they are at making jokes. I will use these in my performance by showing people my facial express, more body movement, and try to stay in character. I will improve this by practicing.
You know what they practice, practice makes perfect.

That is what my reflection on my topic in drama this week, and last week.

Film study

1 or 2 weeks ago during English class we watched a movie called Dragonheart, the movie was about a knight named Bowen. Bowen tried to hunt every dragon down believing that his student Einon was over taken by having a dragon's heart inside him.
However trying to find every single dragon he came across the dragon. The dragon tells Bowen it wasn't the dragon's heart that corrupted him, it was him self changing.

Health (Mindfulness/Body cues)...

LO:
Communicate what you have learnt and how you will apply what you know to the Year 9 Business Kete...

1. What did you learn about ?

I learnt what Mindfulness and body cues means.

Being mindful taught me to try and understand people more and try and talk to people more about there feelings or how there feeling.
Being aware of body cues can help by understanding the person and how they are feeling or what they are feeling.

2. Was there anything you felt difficult to understand?

It was difficult to understand information about Mindfulness because at first i didn't know what it mean't but then i did a little research and then i ended knowing a little bit of Mindfulness and a lot more about body cues.

I over came this by learning more about Mindfulness and Body cues, so that next time when someone asks what Mindfulness or Body cues mean i can answer back with a answer.

3. When you were talking to a class mate how did you know how they were feeling?

When communicating with my partner i noticed his facial expression wasn't happy but then it was sad or angry so i started to notice by the way he was talking, he was feeling bored.

I could tell they felt this way because he wasn't Angry, Sad, or happy, so i saw that he was feeling bored.

Try see what my character is feeling by clicking the link.

3. Slearnio and his other twin brother because it said in the book.

4. I really don't know well but they are meeting about why did tuban steal his money I think.

Act 2 scene 9, Merchant of venice...

1. I think it's a riddle trying to trick greedy people and maybe some idiots as well so they don't get their hands on Portia.

2. The Prince of Arragon thinks that the phrase on the golden casket is a trick because it says "What many men desire" and he thinks the "many" are fools or he thinks it just money or ducats.

3. I guess Portia is excited for Bassaino's arrival and I think she wants Bassaino to choose the right casket because she likes him.

Act 2 scene 8 Merchant of venice...

1. Jessica left Shylock and stole his ducats or money in the form of jewellery.

2. Shylock thinks that Jessica and Lorenzo are in Bassaino's boat or ship

Act 2 scene 7

1. Price of Morocco thinks that the golden casket has Portia's portrait because on the golden casket it says "He who chooses me will get what many men want." Also the Prince of Morocco thinks that the other caskets, silver and lead isn't worth Portia.

2. She feels confident that the Prince of Morocco won't pick the correct one and she is right. At the end she doesn't feel nervous at all because she knows he isn't going to choose the right casket.

3. I think Shylock (Jessica's Dad) is trying to get rid of men who is greedy for Jessica and making them not able to marry anymore so there are less people like that. It seems like it's working since everybody has chosen the wrong one so far.

2. She intends to use money to save Antonio

4. I think it's because Portia thinks that if Antonio is her husband best friend they must be alike

5. I think woman back then couldn't enter the court room or their opinions were just avoided.

6. She would wear her sword gracefully, speak like a teenage boy and walk like a man.

Health, Resilience...

LO: Communicate what you have learnt and how you will apply what you know to the Year 9 Business Kete...

1. What did you learn about?
I learnt how to be resilience.

My favorite saying connected to resilience is never give up.

2. Was there anything you felt difficult to understand? why?
It was difficult to understand information about resilience.
Because i didn't really understand what resilience meant at the beginning.

3. How did you relate to the video “Who Moved My Cheese”?

he video “Who moved my Cheese” is about 2 mice and 2 mini people the 2 mice were called Sniff n scurry, and the 2 Little people were called Hem n Haw.
It taught me that what ever happens in life you just have to get back up and carry on until you find what you were looking for.

4. How can you apply your new knowledge to the Business Kete?
During the Business and Enterprise Kete I will be able to show what resilience means.
I will do this by putting a group together and make something that relates to resilience.

Science Leaves and plants.

In science today i learned about leaves and plants. A gorse bush has leaves that are rolled up to from spines. Outline the advantage to the gorse bush of having these types of leaves. Rolled leaves like those on a gorse bush provide protection from grazing animals such as cows.

Plants on the forest floor often have large lamina. Outline the advantage to these plants of having such a large lamina. Because there is a limited amount of light on the forest floor, plants need large lamina to catch more of the available light.

List the two molecules joined to make glucose. Carbon dioxide and water.

Outline where the plant gets these two molecules from. Carbon dioxide through the stomata. Water is taken in by the roots.

State where photosynthesis occurs within the leaf. Photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplasts.

Explain why plants are called producers. Plants are called producers because they are able to make (produce) their own food.

What are stomata? Stomata are small holes on the underside of the leaf.

Name the pigment responsible for the green colour of leaves. Chlorophyll.

That is my reflection of today's science.

Music...

For music we have been doing a choreography to a song called Aotearoa, the part that i mostly liked about the performance is when we go into a triangle, because i get to hide in the back where no one can see me. The hard thing to do was learning the choreography because everyone was all over the place until my music teacher Mrs. Richardson put us in our places. The hardest thing for me was learning the dance moves and the words to the song at the same time, and the clothes ill be wearing on the day will be a  costume that wraps around my shoulders.

That is my reflection for music this week.
