When was the treaty signed?
New Zealand:
Signed in 1840.
Scottish:
Treaty was signed 1707.
New Zealand were not invited to vote for there independence.
Scottish people were invited to vote for there Independence.
The Waitangi treaty was signed about 179 years ago, but others were signed around 300 years ago.
In 2019 a second Scottish Independence referendum has been approved and Scotland will get to vote again.
Who was the treaty between?
Maori.
English.
Positives:
-Protections from British.
-Partnership.
-Participation.
Negatives:
-British tried taking over.
-Musket wars.
-Alcoholic/Drunk behavior.
